The Age of Migration. Chapter 11. Across history, the main drive of international migration has varied a lot. But the results caused by migration between countries remain the same: social transformation, economical influence, cultural mergence. The change in demographic, economic and social structures appear both in the sending and receiving countries. 2. The migration movement takes many different forms: manual workers, highly-qualified specialists, entrepreneurs, refugees or family members of previous migrants. These people have different status and thus bring different influence to the receiving countries. We cannot classify all of them in one way and need to discuss their individual impacts instead. 3.
